Films in the Hate Story series always manage to draw in the crowds and also mint money. For some reason, people love to watch these films, that are high-on erotica and thrills. In fact, one of the things that draw them to it is mostly suspense. Hate Story films are known to have shocking twists and turns. But the fourth installment was pale in comparison to all the previous films.
However, for a film which has been made on a controlled budget, the box office numbers are not so disappointing. Rumours suggest it has been made at a budget of Rs 21 crore and it has already made Rs 14.66 crore in four days. If it manages to hold its ground in the coming days, it will at least recover its investment if not more.
Despite good buzz and promotions, Hate Story 4 opened to a slow note on Friday and received mixed remarks from everyone. Then it picked up slightly over the weekend but still remained low and did the business of 3.76 crores on Friday, 4.19 crores on Saturday and 4.62 crores on Sunday.
After the opening weekend, the total collection of the film was 12.57 crores. Now Hate Story is running on weekdays and due to normal working days, it is slowing down considerably. On Monday it raked the business of 2.09 crore. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, Urvashi-Karan-Vivan starrer bagged 2.10 crore.
With this, the total collection of Hate Story 4 after 5 days, has become 16.76 crores at the domestic box office. As per current trend, it doesn’t seem able to go past the mark of 21 crores in the lifetime. Hate Story 4, which stars Urvashi Rautela, Karan Wahi, Vivan Bhatena and Ihana Dhillon, released on last Friday.
