Just after the Tamil blockbuster Chiranjeevi starrer film Khaidi No.150 made news with its collections, here comes another movie in Telugu language ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ is all popping up in news. Gautamiputra Satakarni is a historic magnum opus by director Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Saibabu Jagarlamudi , Y. Rajeev Reddy. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and incidentally this is 100th film of his career!
The film also stars Kabir Bedi, Shriya Saran and veteran actress Hema Malini in a short but effective role. Gautamiputra was a Satavahana ruler from the 2nd century AD. The movie revolves around the life and glory of the emperor, and the battle that was fought in order to save the kingdom. Interestingly the film was passed by the censor board without any cuts! Also, it has been made tax free in Andhra Pradesh. The film is going good with the fans and has got mostly good reviews by them.
Telugu movie ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ has released this week on around 900 screens in the states Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. The movie has good hype among audience, as the lead star andamuri Balakrishna is one of the most popular actor in Tollywood. As expected GPSK has started on an excellent in its dominated regions and getting overwhelmed response from audience. Critics have also reviewed the movie with favorable comments, that has created huge buzz about it on social media.
The screening of the Krish-directed period movie began in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka in the wee hours of Thursday. The film recorded a superb initial response. Gautamiputra Satakarni ran to packed houses in these early morning shows. The film, which had very good advance booking, registered about 85 percent occupancy in these states in the regular shows on its opening day.
It also registered a good response in other parts of the world on Thursday. As per early estimates, Gautamiputra Satakarni collected Rs 25 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie is estimated to have earned over Rs 18 crore for its distributors on its opening day.
