Excel announces the release date of Fukrey Returns
Despite having no huge stars, Fukrey proved to be an entertaining movie when it was released in 2013, and turned out to be a sleeper hit of the year. Fukrey was directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their banner, Excel Entertainment. Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh played the main leads in the movie, while Richa Chadha played the primary antagonist of a female don.
Vishakha Singh and Priya Anand also had important roles as the love interests for Fazal and Samrat’s characters. Now the entire team is returning for the sequel that began its shooting last year, and has just completed the final schedule a few days back. The makers have revealed the first poster of the movie, as well as the release date of the movie, which is December 8.
The poster is also tailored to show the release date, which has a snake swallowing its own tail, while also forming the figure of eight. Richa Chadha, whose character of the loud and dangerous Bholi Punjaban, had promised that the sequel will be funnier and bigger than the original. This is what she has to say about working in the movie, “I feel blessed to have worked on this film… to have a character that’s so black that it’s lovable… to play a woman that’s empowered and hence memorable… true, it doesn’t fit into the neat little boxes, but who wants to live in a box anyway.”
The original Fukrey was about how four college-mates decide to make fast money through dubious means, and how their crazy plans land them in big trouble.
