Srk Fan 3rd Day Box Office Collection
The box office collection of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Fan” declined by 19 percent on its second day, i.e. on Saturday. The film minted Rs. 34.60 crore from its two-day run at the domestic box office. “Fan,” directed by Maneesh Sharma, had a good opening at the box office, considering the genre. A drop was expected in its second-day collection, but a 19 percent drop might affect the overall opening weekend box office collection. The decline was mostly in mass circuits while business at multiplexes remained strong on Saturday. “#Fan declines in mass circuits, but remains strong at urban centres/plexes. Fri 19.20 cr, Sat 15.40 cr. Total: ₹ 34.60 cr. India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The thriller drama, starring Shah Rukh in a double role, will now have to show a good jump in Sunday’s collection for a good opening weekend. Rs. 17.75 crore third-day income from “Fan,” but since the target audience is limited, it remains to be seen whether the film will have a good third day run. Meanwhile, the film has scored well at the overseas box office, earning more than Rs. 17 crore from Thursday and Friday’s run.
The film has surpassed Rs. 50 crore at the worldwide box office in just two days and now, it is inching towards the Rs. 100 crore mark. “#Fan Overseas: Thu + Fri $ 2.7 million [₹ 17.93 cr],” trade analyst Adarsh tweeted. If “Fan” maintains a stronghold in the international market, then it will cross the Rs. 100 crore mark by the end of its opening weekend at the worldwide box office. Maneesh’s thriller drama had the biggest release at the overseas box office, while in India the film was released in lesser number of screens compared to Shah Rukh’s previous movies.
The India screen count of “Fan” is 3,500, overseas screen count is 1,100 and worldwide is more than 4,600. Anyhow, with these business figures, total weekend collection of Fan has become 52.35 crores at domestic box office. Directed by Maneesh, “Fan” features Shah Rukh in a double role – Aryan Khanna and Gaurav Chandna — Waluscha de Sousa and Shriya Pilgaonkar as the lead actress and Deepika Amin and Yogendra Tiku in supporting roles.
