Drishyam 9th Day Box Office Performance

Ajay Devgn and Tabu Starrer “Drishyam” first week box office collection is in the same range as “Baahubali — the Beginning” (Bahubali). The Hindi version of “Baahubali — the Beginning” (Bahubali) minted over Rs 46.77 crore in its first week and “Drishyam” also minted approximately Rs 46.28 crore. “Drishyam”, starring Ajay and Tabu, was released in over 2,300 screens in India. The film had an average opening, but later the ticket sales increased at the box offices due to good word of mouth. “Drishyam” first week box office collection is the eighth highest this year. The highest first week box office collection of 2015 is being held by Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, followed by “ABCD – Any Body Can Dance 2” with second highest and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” with third highest earnings. But the film released 8 days before has fared dropping collections on domestic screens from the very first day till now. Amidst the total 9 days time on box office the film has faced many obstacles in its way firstly from not so favorable viewer’s response after release, secondly from Ritiesh & Pulkit starrer latest Bangistan which is running on some screens and finally from the Hollywood movie Mission Impossiable 5.

Drishyam 2nd Saturday Box Office Collection

Due to weekend time right now, the film has gained bit advantage from this fact and the continuous dropping in the collections and occupancy of Drishyam is getting healed with the increased public response nowadays. Today being the ninth working day of film, it somehow managed to earn a good figure and total 9th day box office collection of Drishyam is around Rs 3.90 Crores*. The film has done an ordinary business in 9 days and expected to grab much higher response and income by tomorrow due to holiday of Sunday. Yet Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali which are getting very high response will definitely prove as a good competitor for this last week release tomorrow also. The story of ‘Drishyam’ revolves around cable TV operator Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), whose life revolves around cinema and his family; wife Nandini (Shriya) and daughters Anju and Anu. Tabu plays the role of police IG Meera Deshmukh in the film.
