Dishoom Second Day Box Office Response

Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer “Dishoom” had a fantastic opening at the box office. The action-adventure drama recorded the sixth highest opening day box office collection of 2016. “Dishoom” shattered the first day business record of Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer “Udta Punjab” to become the sixth highest opener of 2016. “Udta Punjab” earned Rs. 10.05 crore, while “Dishoom” earned Rs. 11.05 crore. The film, directed by Rohit Dhawan, had a good pre-release hype due to high promotion.

As per critics, the movie has weak story line which pulls it down. Also the music is not very effecting but still the chemistry between John Abraham and Varun Dhawan entertains well. Despite weak plot, presence of stars attracts audience toward the theaters. This is the third venture of Sajid Nadiadwala after Baaghi & Housefull 3, and the producer is looking forward to hit hat-trick with this.

Excitement of audience can be easily seen on social media and also from its business stats. The censor board controversy happened before its release, is resulting in complete favor of Dishoom. The movie is strongly buzzing among audience. Dishoom has been released on around 3000 screens across the nation and started the journey of box office on an impressive note. On Saturday, the movie started the day on slightly lesser note than Friday but from evening shows it recorded higher occupancy.

Multiplexes reported better than first day and take its second day collection to 12.25 crores*. After 2 days, total domestic collection of Dishoom has become 23.30 crores*. The north Indian audience is showing huge craze towards the movie. Directed by Rohit and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, “Dishoom” features John, Varun and Jacqueline in the lead roles.
