Dilwale 7th Day Box Office Collection
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale is nearing the Rs 100-crore mark at the domestic box office. The film, after six days at the theatres, has been able to earn Rs 93.39 crore. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film opened to quite a good business at the box office in India. Overseas, the film has been embraced warm-heartedly by the audiences, leading to good numbers at the ticket windows. Dilwale hit the screens on December 18, alongside Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra’s Bajirao Mastani. While the initial few days saw Dilwale doing exceptionally well at the box office, as far as the clash between it and Bajirao Mastani is concerned. However, after the first weekend, Bajirao Mastani has been faring better than Dilwale at the cash registers.
As for Dilwale, the film is at the threshold of the Rs 100-crore club in India, and is expected to enter the same on Thursday (December 25). Post release, Dilwale couldn’t really match up to the pre-release hype that the film had been associated with it. For starters, Dilwale had Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol reuniting as a pair on the silver screen after five years. The last time the two actors were seen together on the big screen was in 2010, in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan. Apart from Shah Rukh and Kajol in the lead roles, the Rohit Shetty project features an ensemble cast comprising Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Mukesh Tiwari, Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani.
However, while the return of Shah Rukh and Kajol – the iconic jodi – made several people make their way to the theatres, Dilwale couldn’t really fare at the box office the way it had been expected to. In addition to that, the reviews of Dilwale too have more or less ranged from lukewarm to out-and-out negative. Now, with Bajirao Mastani having surpassed the domestic collections of the film in the last two days, it remains to be seen how soon the Ranveer-Deepika-Priyanka-starrer is able to overtake Dilwale. Well the response is nearly expected as it doesn’t contains so big stars names and is still catching its little bit lost ground on these working days.
Also the occupancy were not gone as per the provision only in the small city single screens, whereas in multiplexes Dilwale is still managing to do its good work and it is still getting at least 50% occupancy on these business days. Seventh day box office collection of Dilwale is 9.25 Crores* which shows the audience craze for this film even on the weekday. We can expect a rise from the film in the upcoming days as it is start of the weekend from tomorrow so the business may get affected either positively or negatively due to other release like Star Wars.
