Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale, which released on December 18, 2015, has entered the list of top 10 foreign grossers by collecting $18.5 million in the first 10 days of release. The movie was released in 1,210 screens abroad. This puts Dilwale at the number seven spot in the top 10 Bollywood movies overseas. Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is at No 2 with $29 million, followed by Dhoom 3 (2013) at $28 million. The movie with the highest foreign collections from Bollywood is Aamir Khan’s PK, that released in December 2014. The film had collected $47 million overseas. Day-wise breakup from December 18 till now Dilwale was co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. and Rohit Shetty.

While the majority of the screens were in traditional markets–North America (the US and Canada), the UK and West Asia, Dilwale also released in new territories like Jordan, Spain, Finland, Trinidad and Guyana. Dilwale is all set to release in Germany, Iraq, Palestine, Peru, Switzerland, Morocco, Austria and Egypt in the coming weeks. Shah Rukh Khan’s film collects Rs 273.5 crore worldwide South East Asian markets like Malaysia and Indonesia are also contributing well to the foreign collection, he adds. The film’s headline song, Gerua, was dubbed in Malay to familiarise audiences. It was the top song on iTunes in Malaysia around the release.


In the second week, it was faced heavy drops and raked the total business of 31.98 crores, that comprises 21.23 crores of weekend and rest 10.75 crores of weekdays. Till the end of its 14th day, total 2 weeks collection of Dilwale on Indian screens was recorded as 134.63 crores. Now the film has entered in its third week and expected to show slightly better performance in this weekend. On its third Friday, it has witnessed more drop and minted the amount of 1.85 crore* as its 15th day collection. As per report, Dilwale has grossed over 300 crores worldwide in which approx. 112 crores are contributed by its overseas screens.

In total 16 days of its journey this film has outperformed and is running as most successful release from past 15 days and this month in North. Dilwale made a total business of approx. 3.05 Crores* by the end of the day today all over India and worldwide. Earlier it was being expected that this film might do miracles at big screens but looking at the current status of it we see that Dilwale may not survive very long.
