9 Days Total Box Office Collection of Dear Zindagi
Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s fabulous run at the box office for Dear Zindagi continues even as they enter the second week! Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted saying that the film will easily surpass the Rs 50 cr benchmark after today’s collections. So far, the film has raked in Rs 49.25 cr as it entered the second week at the box office. “#DearZindagi [Week 2] Fri 2.25 cr. Total: ₹ 49.25 cr. India biz… On the next day i.e. Saturday, Dear Zindagi reported decent growth in its occupancy and estimated to collect 3.50 crores from Indian screens, to make its 9 days domestic total as 52.75 crores.
However, the difference between the film just about crossing the 65 crore mark or managing to touch the 70 crore would depend on the jumps that are shown over this weekend. Basically, there is just one more week for the film to gain some moolah as Befikre arrives next week and that would take up the majority of multiplex screens. From the numbers it has minted as on day 8, looks like this film will emerge as Alia’s hit! In the first week of Dear Zindagi, the box offcie collections were reported, “#DearZindagi has a good Week 1… Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 12.50 cr, Mon 4.25 cr, Tue 4 cr, Wed 3.25 cr, Thu 3 cr. Total: ₹ 47 cr.”
You can see that there has been a gradual decrease in terms of the days. But once again, as it enters the second weekend, chances of the film’s collection to spike up is very much possible. It is speculated that the film might falter a bit because of Vidya Balan‘s Kahaani: Durag Rani Singh, that released yesterday. Having released in 1200 screens. with a budget that is not more than 30 cr max, Dear Zindagi has already earned profits for its makers. These numbers will help the filmmakers realise that low budgeted films should be the future.
It keeps you afloat even if it earns slowly and steadily. Add the fact that this slice of life was a film a lot of us could resonate with, further bringing in more audience. So far, the film is still hanging under the ‘average’ tag in terms of box office. One question that does linger in our head is whether Vidya Balan’s release will be affected by the good run of Dear Zindagi.
