Dear Zindagi 7th Day Collection; One Week Domestic Performance Report

1st Week Collection of Dear Zindagi

Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi has been running successfully at the box office with its collection crossing Rs 40 crore in just 5 days of its release. Now the film has completed 6 days in the domestic market and it has kept its pace steady. Dear Zindagi, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, had started at the Indian box office with impressive numbers in the opening weekend. The movie continued to collect decent money at the box office even over the weekdays. After having earned Rs 32.50 crore nett at the domestic market in just 3 days of its release, Dear Zindagi had collected Rs 4.25 crore on Monday and Rs 4 crore on Tuesday at Indian box office.

The film’s collection witnessed a little drop in its business on Wednesday but it still managed to make a decent collection. Dear Zindagi collected Rs 3.25 crore nett on Wednesday, taking its 6-day total collection to Rs 44 crore. “#DearZindagi Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 12.50 cr, Mon 4.25 cr, Tue 4 cr, Wed 3.25 cr. Total: 44 cr. India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. Having released in 1,200 screens, Dear Zindagi has turned out to be one of the highest opening grossers of 2016. With the current pace, the film is likely to cross Rs 50 crore nett in the domestic market even before the end of its second weekend.

On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, being Dear Zindagi started the day on an average note but reported sudden rise in its business from evening and minted 3 crores. Till the end of its 7th day, total collection of the film is recorded as 47 crores at domestic box office. Alia shared screen space but their onscreen chemistry clicked well with the audience. Positive reviews from the critics and strong word of mouth has further been working wonders for the movie at the box office.

However, Dear Zindagi might witness some competition at the commercial circuits after the release of Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani 2 that will hit the screens on this Friday. The film is a commercial success and has come in at just the right time when Bollywood could do with more successes under its belt. There are four major films up for release next – Kahaani 2, Befikre, Wajah Tum Ho and Dangal. One truly hopes that each of these turns out to be successful too, hence concluding 2016 on a high!
