Dangal Has Huge First Week
Friday released Bollywood movie has created many records at box office. Aamir Khan starrer biographical sports drama movie is doing very well as expected and very soon will be a highest grosser movie of year 2016. From its very day, Dangal is getting wonderful response from critics as well as from audience. Few anti-followers were also there but that didn’t affect its business. On its first day, Dangal has collected 29.78 Cr as its opening collection; which was very less as compare to the expectations. But because of evening cold weather, movie’s late shows didn’t had much occupancy and as we said earlier, entire business has been covered in rest days.
On next day i.e. on Saturday, occupancy for Dangal increased and movie has done business of 34.82 Cr as second day collection. Increment in Saturday’s collection was a good sign for movie that it will collected high figures on Sunday. As expected, on Sunday Dangal made 42.41 Cr and made movie’s opening weekend total collection of 106.95 Cr. On third day, occupancy for Dangal was around 95% in north and 65-70% in south due to Dhruva.
Now weekdays had started and everyone was expecting a high drop in business of Dangal because of religious controversies but on Monday i.e. on its 4th day it has made 25.69 Cr. As we know, drop is considerable in weekdays but Dangal has not faced high drop and continuously collected high figures. On Monday, it reported only 14% of drop than last Friday and collected the amount of 25.69 crores. With further slight decline, this sports biopic added the amount of 23.09 crores on Tuesday and 21.20 crores of Wednesday.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Dangal witnessed little more drop and minted the amount of 20.29 crores, which has made its opening week domestic total as 197.53 crores. Not only from India but in international market too, it is getting terrific response and has raked around 110 crores from there till Thursday. In breaking previous records and creating new, Dangal has made its total opening week collection of 197+ Cr which is the highest opening week business of all time in Bollywood.
