First Day Collection of Vidyut’s Commando 2
Commando 2 has started with a decent note on Friday. The movie has received positive reviews from most of the critics, also audience is showing thumbs up for it. Bollywood’s handsome hunk Vidyut Jammwal starrer this action thriller is buzzing from a long time among audience, as initially it was supposed to release in last year. After a long delay finally Commando 2 has released out and getting satisfactory response from audience. The film is a sequel to the 2013 film Commando: A One Man Army.
The actor is being praised by everyone for his power-packed performance in the movie. Commando 2 has released on more than 2200 screens in India and was expected to take box office by storm as we seen in last month released actress oriented film Jolly LLB 2. But the initial buzz has not showed its magic and the film has reported decent occupancy on its opening day. With the overall occupancy of 15-20%, it has raked the business of around 5.14 crores including Hindi-Telugu-Tamil versions at domestic box office.
Action is a staple of the masses, which is why the move is doing much better at single screens than at multiplexes. Interestingly, the movie has been directed by a debutant, Deven Bhojani, and features relative newcomers like Vidyut Jammwal, Adah Sharma and Esha Gupta. Yet, its opening-day numbers are impressive, proving once again that content never fails at the box office.
Over the weekend, the film will ring in good numbers and hold firm. I think it will wrap its first weekend at Rs 15-17 crore. Kudos to a producer like Vipul (Amrutlal Shah) for going with his gut, promoting young talent and getting a film with good content out of them. Commando 2 is drawing a fabulous response at the ticket window, especially at single screens.
The film has out-of-the-box action and a relevant subject to entertain the audience. This is the second sequel of the year, and just like Jolly LLB 2, the film is backed by good content. Not surprisingly, the film has seen firm growth in footfalls since morning. Vidyut Jammwal, who impressed the audience in the first installment of the film back in 2013, has proved his mettle once again.
