Brahmotsavam 2nd Day Box Office Response
Mahesh Babu’s “Brahmotsavam” has failed to set new records for the first day collection at the Andhra and Telangana (AP/T) box office. Released in over 900 screens in the two states, the Telugu movie has been hit by bad word-of-mouth and rainy weather. As a result, the Tollywood film, which was expected to break several box office records, has failed to create a history. The box office numbers are still being compiled and the makers are expected to reveal the numbers very soon. But early estimates suggests “Brahmotsavam” has earned around Rs. 13 crore from the AP/T regions, Andhra Box Office reported.
“Brahmotsavam” had got a good response for advance booking and the trade experts had predicted the movie to do rocking business on the first day at the box office. Looking at the craze around the flick, single screen exhibitors had additional shows in the morning to meet the demand. But what should have turned out to be an advantage for the Mahesh Babu’s film became a spoilsport as the movie carried largely negative reviews from the first shows. Apparently, this had an impact on the film at the box office.
The effect of positive reviews came out from audience on Friday has resulted in excellent for it on Saturday. On its second day, movie has started with almost similar response and minted approx. 13.25 crores* from AP, Telangana and nearby regions. As per the report of advance booking, almost all its shows in AP are already houseful for the entire weekend. On the first day, it has recorded overall 80% occupancy for morning shows and almost 100% from evening shows. From its dominated regions Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Nizam, Vizag etc..
It was released in 875 plus screens in Telugu states and considering the screen count, Hype and Buzz it can be considered as very poor performance. Today is its third day at box office and also the public holiday, so the day is expected to be outstanding. Being weekend, Sunday always results in highest income for movies and also it is very special for fans of Mahesh, so the movie is expected to do highest business among first 3 days of release.
