The three main Hindi films Bhoomi, Haseena Parkar and Newton have got stumped by regional films. In main its Telugu film Jai Lava Kusa doing the damage which has opened huge in its home market of Nizam / Andhra but even in Mumbai city / Thane belt it is scoring over Haseena Parkar and Bhoomi. In the North, Punjabi film Nikka Zaildar has taken a good opening and is easily beating the Hindi films in Punjab and parts of Delhi.
Bhoomi starring Aditi Rao Hydari as Sanjay Dutt’s daughter, this film is a revenge saga primarily about the relationship between a caring father and his loving daughter. The Omung Kumar directorial released on 2134 screens out of which 1894 are Indian and 240 overseas.
Leading actor Sanjay Dutt has given her best as always, but still Bhoomi is receiving mixed reviews from critics as well as audience. On Friday, it opened on a dull note in morning and minted the amount of 2.25 crores from 1894 screens across the country with overall 15% of occupancy.
On the other hand, Apoorva Lakhia’s directorial biopic Haseena Parkar starring Shraddha Kapoor and Siddhanth Kapoor in lead roles. As title suggests, it is based on the life of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar.
On the opening day, Haseena Parkar also started the journey on a dull and recorded overall 7-9% of occupancy on 1700 screens and raked the business of 1.87 crores. As a good sign, most of the audience is reacting in it’s favor, so it can take decent jump over this weekend.
Last but not the least, Rajkummar Rao’s dark comedy Newton, which is being appreciated by critics due of good execution and brilliant performance of the actor. But still it is not able to attract audience toward theaters. On the opening day, Amit V Masurkar’s directorial recorded only 5% of occupancy and collected 0.96 crore.
