All three new releases of the week practically collected in the same range as the numbers were around 7 crore mark. The major difference though is that Sanjay Dutt starre Bhoomi is the costliest of the lot, Rajkummar Rao’s Newton has been made at the least budget while Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar has a budget in between.
With around 15% of occupancy over the weekend and mixed reviews from critics, Sanjay Dutt’s comeback film Bhoomi registered the very low business of 7.48 crore from Indian screens, which was including 2.25 crore of Friday, 2.47 crore of Saturday and 2.76 crore of Sunday.
Now the Omung Kumar’s directorial has entered in weekdays and done the business of 1.70 crore on Monday with usual drop on normal working day and raised it’s domestic total to 9.18 crores. One now waits to see when does Sanjay Dutt announce his next. He needs to make his comeback in a big way now.
While the second one i.e. Rajkummar Rao starrer Newton has also received mixed reviews but showed decent growth over the weekend. It did the business of total 6.90 crores that included 0.96 crores on Friday, 2.52 crores on Saturday and 3.42 crores on Sunday from 430 screens.
Now the movie have been entered in weekdays and getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before. On Monday bagged the amount of 1.31 crore to make it’s business total 8.21 crores. he film has been accepted by its target audience and for now one can’t really put a final number on where it would eventually land up.
While Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena Parkar received poor reviews and started it’s journey on an average note. In the opening weekend, it did the business of 6.10 crores, that included 1.87 crores of Friday, 2.60 crores of Saturday and 1.63 crores of Sunday.
Now it has been entered in weekdays and due to normal working days, started getting lesser footfalls in theaters. On Monday with around 60% of drop than Friday, it garnered the business of 0.75 crore. After 4 days, total collection of Haseena Parkar has become 6.85 crores.
