Befikre Review by Critics, Rating & Audience Response: Live Update

Befikre Movie Review by Top Critics

Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s Befikre has opened in theatres to a positive response. While the audience is pleasantly surprised by the content of the film, critics have given it thumbs up. Even though Singh isn’t breaking the mold with Befikre, it is a refreshing change of scene for him considering the intense roles he has been doing for the last couple of years. Meanwhile, this is Kapoor’s golden opportunity to make a mark for herself; her debut film hardly got her any attention as it was more focused on Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra’s characters.

Befikre is a special film or let’s say an important film in another way. It brought Aditya Chopra back to the director’s chair after eight long years. Shot in Paris, Befikre has been made on a budget of Rs. 70 crore and released in 2900 screens worldwide. The romantic-comedy follows Dharam (Singh), who travels to the French capital in search for adventure and Shyra (Kapoor), who is a tourist guide and a free-spirited lover.

Here’s what the critics have to say about Befikre:

Umair Sandhu of Asian Cinema Magazine UK & UAE wrote: “As per performances, #RanveerSingh is marvellous. An incredible actor. One will run out of adjectives and personifications describing his performance. He Steals the Show all the way. #VaaniKapoor is Revolution. She looks Stunning & gave Top Notch Performance. Their Chemistry is Terrific. On the whole, Befikre has an interesting first & second half. At the box-office, thanks to the hype built around the film, the opening weekend should be great. Go for it.”

Aseem Chhabra of Rediff said: “In fact, Befikre carries quite a bit of BBB hangover, with occasional nod to Chopra’s breakthrough film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. But in Befikre Dharam and Shyra take it one level further when in a state of confusion and anger they get engaged and even close to marrying other partners. Of course, Befikre is a Hindi film and no surprise how it will end.”

Sreeju Sudhakaran of BollywoodLife wrote: “Like I said before Befikre is unlike any movie Aditya Chopra has directed before, replete with numerous kissing scenes and both Ranveer and Vaani taking their clothes off at any given time. Going by the college crowd around me, the idea does appeal to them, but the more traditionalists among the viewers might turn their nose up.”

Faridoon Shahryar wrote: #Befikre is a blatant promotional exercise for #FrenchTourism… You wouldn’t mind the sight of beautiful locations though. CBFC has been generous in giving UA to #Befikre.Profuse smooches, bikini clad women, strip tease n Ranveer showing his bare back in total!! Vishal-Shekhar’s music is wonderful.#KhulkeDhulke is the only shortcoming.#LabonKaKarobar full video is beautiful
