Befikre 11th Day Collection, Grosses 55.54 Cr in 11 Days at Indian Box Office

Befikre Minted 55.41 Cr till 2nd Weekend

Yash Raj Films’s latest Hindi offering, the romantic film ‘Befikre’ has completed its 10 days journey at box office on an excellent note. Despite new releases, it has reported impressive business in the second weekend and emerged as 18th highest grosser film of the year so far by dominating Wajah Tum Ho. This Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor Khan starrer rom-com has been released last week and received positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Audience found it very entertaining and showed thumbs up for it. In its opening week, as stated above Befikre witnessed excellent response and minted the amount of total 48.75 cr from Indian screens, that includes 34.43 cr of weekend and 14.32 cr of weekdays.

From the overseas market, it reported the business of 16.20 cr after one week. Now the film is running in its second week and despite new releases performing very well. In its second weekend, it raked the business of 6.79 cr in India, including 1.68 cr of Friday, 2.27 cr of Saturday and 2.84 cr of Sunday. After 10 days, total collection of Befikre was recorded as 55.54 cr on domestic and 16.20 cr on overseas box office. Once again Befikre has entered in weekdays and asusual started getting lesser response. But still passed the Monday test on a decent note, on its 11th day it witnessed considerable drop and collected the amount of 1.06 crore.

Till the end of its 2nd Monday, total domestic collection of the film is recorded as 56.62 cr.  Directed by Aditya Chopra, who returns to direction after a gap of eight years, the film is a rather unconventional offering from the usually traditional fare that Yash Raj Films have become synonyms with. But will the novelty factor of Befikre and its energetic casting work wonders at the box office is the question. Reports suggest that Befikre has opened on a positive note with morning shows recording approximately 55% occupancy rate. In fact the film has had a very good start at multiplexes with youth thronging cinema halls.

Now given the strategic release pattern the makers of the film have opted for (2900 screens, 2100 domestic + 800 overseas) and the ratio of multiplex to single screens will aid them favourably. On the whole, with no other major release, Befikre that also features good music that has managed to top the charts is expected to do well over the weekend. While the youth will certainly love the film, it remains to be seen how families will react and patronise the movie.
