The two new offerings of this week from Bollywood- Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Manto have taken a slow start at the box office, while the 3 week ago released Stree remained steady. Due to Muharram and mixed reviews from the critics, both the movies witnessed overall an average occupancy in theaters across India.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar under the banner T-Series, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed reviews from the critics on the first day but got succeed to entertain the audience. Although the film has registered a decent opening at the box office.
On the opening day, Shree Narayan Singh’s debut directorial opening to a dull note and recorded 25-30% of occupancy for the morning shows. From the evening shows, it took a considerable growth and registered the business of 6.76 crores at the domestic box office.
Because of favorable reactions by the audience, BGMC is expected to take considerable growth over the weekend. On the other hand, another offering of this week Manto has taken a dull opening at the box office. But the film has received mostly positive reviews from the critics.
On the opening day, Manto started its journey on a poor note and remained overall dull throughout the day as Batti Gul Meter Chalu is diverting major audience toward itself. As per reports, HP Studios’ production has collected only 0.50 crore on Friday, but expected to grow well over the weekend.
