Bareilly Ki Barfi, Partition 1947 and VIP 2 Lalkar 1st Day Collection, Gets Slow Start

This week multiple Bollywood movies have been released at box office, but no one has any good hype among audience. The list includes more than five or more Hindi movies & but out of these only three are associated with known names- Bareilly Ki Barfi, Partition 1947 and VIP 2 Lalkar. All three movies have received mixed reviews from most of the critics but recorded very less occupancy in theaters.

Talking about Bareilly Ki Barfi, this is an Indian romantic comedy film directed by the Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari & produced under the banner of Junglee Pictures and BR Studios. It features Rajkumar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon.

On the first day, it has not started on a good note but being a comedy movie it is getting mixed response from viewers. Bareilly Ki Barfi got a dull response in morning shows on its 1st day. So far the occupancy is around 15%-20%, which is not good & minted the amount of near about 2.42 crores.

Moving to next Partition 1947, it is British-Indian historical drama film directed by Gurinder Chadha and written by Paul Mayeda Berges, Moira Buffini, and Chadha under the banner of Reliance Entertainment. In terms of star cast, this movie gets higher marks, as it features Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, and Michael Gambon in lead roles.

The film received generally positive reviews from critics. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 76% based on 41 reviews, with an average rating of 6/10. Partition 1947 has also reported less occupancy of 6-8% in theaters & as per report, its opening business is 0.20 crore.

The third one, VIP 2 (Hindi Dubbed) is a comedy drama movie directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth and produced by Dhanush and Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banner of Wunderbar Films and V. Creations. A sequel to the 2014 film Velaiilla Pattadhari, it has Dhanush, Amala Paul, Vivek, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani reprising their roles, with Kajol playing one of the protagonists.

On the opening day, it witnessed dull occupancy of 10-15% on around 400 screens across the country and minted the amount of 0.40 crores. The film is expected to show slight jump in its business in coming days.
