Bajrao Mastani 18 Days Total Collection
Ranveer Singh’s “Bajirao Mastani” has continued to keep cash registers ringing in its third week. It has become the third-highest grosser of 2015, beating the record of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”. Despite clashing with “Dilwale”, “Bajirao Mastani” debuted with decent response and went from strength to strength on the following days. The movie collected Rs 86.15 crore nett in the first week and Rs 55.70 crore nett in the second week. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has collected Rs 141.85 crore nett at the Indian box office in 14 days. Since there was no new release this weekend, trade experts predicted it to continue its rocking run in its third week.
As predicted, “Bajirao Mastani” did well on the first day of the New Year and collected Rs 7.50 crore at the Indian box office, taking its 15-day domestic total to Rs 149.35 crore nett. Its 15th-day performance was much bigger than its 14th-day collection (Rs 5.35 crore). “Bajirao Mastani” has shown a small amount of dip in business on its third Saturday. The movie is estimated to have collected approximately Rs 5.65 crore at the Indian box office on its 16th day. The film has collected a total of Rs 155 crore in the domestic market in 16 days.
It has become the fourth flick to surpass the Rs 150-crore mark in 2015. Bajirao Mastani had a fantastic third weekend and brought in more than 20 crore. It benefitted immensely from the 1st January holiday as 7.5 crore more came in that day. With Saturday and Sunday showing very good hold as well, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film has managed a record run with collections staying over the 5 crore mark for 18 days in succession, ever since its release. With this, while it has now emerged as the third biggest grosser of 2015 (after Bajrangi Bhaijaanand Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (210 crore), the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer has also cemented its place amongst the Top-15 grossers of all time.
The film is now set to enjoy good weekdays too and with Wazir as the only competition next week, it would be interesting to see how much more does it manage to accumulate in the final tally. “Bajirao Mastani” has beaten the lifetime record of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, which collected Rs 150.77 crore nett at the Indian box office. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed movie has landed in the third spot in the list of top 20 highest grosser Bollywood movies of 2015.
