Year’s one of the much awaited period heist action thriller Baadshaho is being released this Friday at box office with good buzz among fans as well as audience. Milan Luthria’s directorial this action drama has one more Hindi offering in opposite with almost similar genre, titled Shubh Mangal Savdhan.
Back in 2010 when Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi had come together with director Milan Luthria for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, the film was a good Box Office success. It opened well, sustained well and then collected well through its lifetime to emerge as a neat hit. Now that the trio is back with Baadshaho, there are expectations of a good entertainer all over again.
Baadshaho also stars Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’cruz. Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. However, advance booking so far and positively expected to receive overall 30-35% of occupancy on 3242 screens including 2800 screens in India and 442 screens in Overseas. With this trend, it can easily take the opening of 10-11 crores and will rise further if viewers react in it’s favor. Baadshaho too would be relying on Saturday and Sunday jumps to reach towards a hefty total.
On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Savdhan had received favorable reactions for it’s trailer and also getting positive reviews from critics after the premiere. This has already generated positive buzz about the movie, which will definitely help it to remain decent over the opening weekend.
Also, Bhumi Pednekar is coming with a success like Toilet – Ek Prem Katha behind her and with Ayushmann Khurrana as her leading man (after Dum Laga Ke Haisha) it is expected to be a reliable ‘jodi’ all over again. What hasn’t really worked wonders for the film though is the music. While it is situational, it hasn’t really caught on which means the opening day audience would be coming in primarily for the content.
So far the movie has reported below average advance booking but expected to witness overall 15-20% of opening day occupancy on 1650 screens including (1400 screens in India and 250 screens in Overseas). With this, it can rake the opening business of around 2-3 crores. Further performance of the movie depends on the reactions of audience.
