A Flying Jatt First Weekend Box Office Collection
Tiger Shroff’s “A Flying Jatt” didn’t quite open to a flying start, collecting Rs. 7.1 crore on day 1 (at the domestic box office), which was a partial holiday. Even though the box office collection hasn’t been up to the mark, the superhero film is expected to manage a decent total by the end of its opening weekend. “A Flying Jatt” collected Rs. 13.10 crore in its first 2 days (Thursday and Friday) at the Indian box office. The Remo D’Souza-directed film has raked in Rs. 6.30 crore on day 3 and is expected to add Rs. 9 crore on Sunday, which will take its 4-day/opening weekend tally to Rs. 29.45 crore (approx.).
Although, “A Flying Jatt” is closing in on beating first weekend collection of Tiger’s debut film, “Heropanti,” which had minted Rs. 21.33 crore, it is too soon to predict if the superhero film will hold steady through its first week. Released in 2,600 screens, the Tiger-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer was made on a modest budget of Rs. 48 crore, of which Rs. 20 crore has been recovered from satellite rights deal. The film may be able to break even by the end of its opening weekend at the domestic box office. “A Flying Jatt” has received a lukewarm response from both viewers and critics.
It is being tagged as “too preachy” and a film that is nothing more than a stretched environmental science class. This has impacted the film’s growth and led to an increase in the number of shows of Akshay Kumar’s “Rustom.” The crime-thriller has already been performing well at the Indian box office, collecting Rs. 117.01 crore at the domestic box office. This is precisely why it will prove tough for “A Flying Jatt” to dominate Akshay’s film.
However, the bright side is, even though not too many people have given “A Flying Jatt” thumbs up, the superhero film is catching up among kids. This means, the film may attract family audience over the next few days. All said and done, the first week is very crucial for Tiger’s film as Sonakshi Sinha’s “Akira” arrives in theatres on Sept. 2.
