Force 2 2nd Day Collection; Earned Rs 6.05 cr on its Day 1

Second Day Collection of Force 2

Two Bollywood films, Force 2 and Tum Bin 2, released in theatres on Friday, November 18. While Force 2 opened on a decent note, the sequel of the 2001 film Tum Bin received poor response on its first day. Both the films did an average business at the Indian box office on its opening day. Force 2, starring John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha, raked in Rs 6.05 crore on its opening day at the Indian box office. The film has beaten the first day domestic box office collection of Force (Rs 5.05 crore). “#Force2 Fri ₹ 6.05 cr. India biz,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday.

Force 2 did good business at the overseas market also. In the Middle East, the film managed to draw the audience to theatres to become John’s highest opening day grosser in the UAE. The action thriller collect 6,00,000 AED (approx. Rs 1.1 crore) from 74 screens, Bollywood Hungama reported. Force 2 revolves around a man with evil motives named Shiv (played by Tahir Raj Bhasin) who kills agents of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), thereby jeopardising India’s security. He has plans to ruin the country and challenges ACP Yashwardhan (John) and RAW agent KK (Sonakshi). This is for the first time that John and Sonakshi have shared screen space.

On its second day being 2nd Saturday, Force 2 started the day with better occupancy than Friday and received higher response. The movie has minted the amount of 6.50 crore with overall 40% occupancy nationwide. After 2 days, total collection of Force 2 is recorded as 12.55 crore at domestic box office excluding its distribution shares. It is expected to get almost similar response on Sunday and will rake near about 20 cr in the opening weekend.

If not for the demonetization factor, the film could well have collected a couple of crore more. However, the makers took a conscious call to go ahead with the release. One can’t blame them either since there is a biggie releasing every week from this point on. Next couple of days will decide how the decision will indeed work out for all involved with the film.
