Banjo 2 Days Total Box Office Collection
Despite starting slow at the Indian box office, Riteish Deshmukh’s Banjo managed to collect a decent amount on its opening day on Friday. The film witnessed only 10-15 percent occupancy in the morning shows, and gradually picked up in the evening. According to latest report, Banjo, which was released in over 1,200 screens, has collected Rs 1.72 crore approximately at the domestic box office on its first day.
Helmed by National-award winning Marathi director Ravi Jadhav, the film was expected to open to a good start considering that it was based on street artists, and boasts of a crowd-pulling cast, including Nargis Fakhri. However, the movie has failed to draw the audience to the theatres despite the huge buzz surrounding it. It is expected to witness some growth in business over the weekend, since no other big ticket movies have been released this week. Banjo revolves around street artists, and the issues and challenges they face to create a niche for themselves in the world of music.
The movie has a Maharashtrian flavour to it and has, therefore, witnessed a bigger opening in the state as compared to other states. Film has not been hyped much before its release and audience is now feeling that it got over expected. The film has not shown any kind of decent growth on its second day and remained decent on most of the theatres by collecting just 1.95 Crores on its second day of release.
Even the weekend time could not help the film in gaining public attention to expected mark. Anyhow Saturday has reported to be comparatively better than the opening day and managed to count some decent figures in its account by end of yesterday. Today being Sunday film is expected to gain most of its income as after it, it will definitely fall highly in weekday’s time.
