Sultan 2 Weeks Box Office Collection
The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial venture is busy casting its spell at the box office. If Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma’s latest release Sultan is galloping towards the Rs 300-crore mark in India, the film has already crossed the Rs 500-crore mark worldwide. Within just 12 days of its release, Sultan has shattered many box office records. Salman mania has yet again gripped the nation and the film is doing tremendous business at the ticket windows. Sultan, which had collected Rs 180 crore in the first weekend in India, has raked in another Rs 83 crore by the end of second week, thus taking the total amount to Rs 263 crore.
Sultan collected more than Rs 200 crore in the country in just seven days of its release, the fastest film to have done so. With Sultan, Salman now has four films in the coveted Rs 200-crore club – Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan, with Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s collection being more than Rs 300 crore in India. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan is the story of a wrestler who is pushed to retirement after a tragedy hits his life. The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma, hit the screens on Eid this year.From overseas market, it reported the business of total 136.33 crores till the end of its second weekend.
Now once again the movie has entered in weekdays and started witnessing lesser response than weekend. On Monday, it faced almost 45% of drop than last Friday and minted the amount of 4.08 crores. On Tuesday, it started the day on a similar note and estimated to add slight lesser amount of around 3.72 crores to its account. With this, Sultan 14 days total will become 271.03 crores across India. In one more day, it will surpass the lifetime total of Dhoom 3‘s Hindi version (271.82 crores).
Meanwhile, “PK,” starring Anushka Sharma and Aamir, took 14 days to take its global box office gross income to Rs. 500 crore mark, whereas “Sultan” took just 12 days to earn more than Rs. 500 crore worldwide. Trade experts had predicted that Ali Abbas Zafar directorial “Sultan” would continue with its phenomenal run at the worldwide box office even in its second week. And as expected, the Salman-Anushka starrer remained unaffected with the release of “Great Grand Masti” in its second week and kept the cash registers ringing in both domestic as well as international markets.
