Azhar 3 Days Box Office Collection
Emraan Hashmi-starrer “Azhar” had a decent growth on its second day at the box office. The film, based on Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s life, showed a growth of 11 percent on Saturday, which took its two-day collection to Rs. 13.30 crore. “Azhar,” directed by Tony D’Souza, had a slow start, but positive word of mouth from moviegoers helped its business to pick up on Day Two. The film had collected Rs. 6.30 crore on Friday, and Rs. 7 crore on Saturday.
“#Azhar biz witnesses upward trend today [Sat]… Word of mouth positive… Biz should escalate further in evening + night shows, [sic]” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, adding: “#Azhar has 11.11% growth on Sat… Fri 6.30 cr, Sat 7 cr. Total: ₹ 13.30 cr. India biz… Biz must grow manifold on Sun for a decent total. [sic]”. The film had a growth in Delhi city, East Punjab and Mysore circuits. However, the other circuits had a below-average run.
After a decent second day, the film needs to show a good jump on Sunday to record a good opening-weekend box office collection. Though the film managed to register the 10th-highest opener in Bollywood this year, it remains to be seen whether the opening weekend will be in the top 10 of 2016. As per the received reports, the start of the day is above average and a increment is recorded in evening shows. The estimated collection of the movie on Sunday is around 8.10 crores*.
Till the end of Saturday it has collected total 13.30 crores in 2 days. Now with its 3rd day collection, the total weekend collection of the movie will become 21+ crores* which is very less than the earlier expectations. Tony’s directorial features Emraan in the titular role, Prachi Desai as his wife Naureen, while Nargis Fakhri plays the role of his second wife Sangeeta. The film also features Lara Dutta in an important role.
