Housefull 3 Official Logo & Trailer Release Date
Eros International is giving 50,000 moviegoers the first chance to see the trailer of the latest edition of the Housefull franchise in cinemas across India on Sunday April 24. The distributor is staging special screenings of the trailer of Housefull 3 in more than 100 cities, followed by a message from the cast. Eros said this is the biggest trailer launch in India and the first time a trailer has been shown simultaneously across the country including second tier towns such as Gwalior, Kota, Udaipur, Raipur, Rajkot, Surat, Nasik, Patna, Gaya, Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Banaras.
Directed by Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s Sajid Nadiadwala, the romantic comedy will open on June 3 in India and in Bollywood-friendly markets including the U.S., U.K., Middle East and Australia. A spokeswoman for Eros told Forbes the distributor is looking to launch the comedy day-and-date in some non-traditional Bollywood markets. The ensemble comprising Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, and Lisa Haydon together with the directors and producers will attend the 4 pm screening in Mumbai.
The first installment starred Kumar, Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta, directed by Sajid Khan, was released in 2010 and made 74 crore ($11.1 million) in India. Kumar played Aarush, a loser in life who moves into the house of his best buddy Bob (Riteish) and his wife. Convinced that true love can wipe out his bad luck jinx, a desperate Aarush finds himself in myriad complicated situations.
Also directed by Sajid Khan, the second edition in 2012 had John Abraham replacing Rampal and it did even better, raking in 110 crore ($16.5 million). The synopsis of Housefull 3 is under wraps but reportedly will feature a bromance between Akshay Kumar’s character and Abhishek Bachchan: the first time those stars have teamed up since Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya in 2002.
