This Raja Menon directorial film is Akshay’s fourth highest grosser ever and now the film is set to break the Rs 106 crore record of “Holiday” film. With a strong hold at the theatres in its second week, “Airlift” is expected to break the record by its 12th day. The storyline of the film is based on the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait Gulf war. The film opened with good box office number and positive reviews from critics, Bollywood celebrities and audiences.
Today it earned comparatively lower business and managed to collect 5.50 Crores*. With mind blowing business in the weekend the film may now easily do significant business in the coming days of the week and may prove to be one of the big hits of this year. Bollywood celebs like Rishi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Hansal Mehta, Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat among others praised the film, Akshay-Nimrat and director Raja Menon.
