Sivakarthikeyan’s “Rajini Murugan” has got a good opening at Tamil Nadu box office while other releases like “Tharai Thappattai”, “Kathakali”and “Gethu” had a decent day at collection centres. The early reports from the trade clearly indicate that “Rajini Murugan” is the clear winner at the box office on the release day. Exhibitor Pathy Senthil confirmed the same on Twitter as he posted, “Good opening for Rajini Murugan with good audience report.Decent opening for Thara Thappatai but will not attract family Audience. Kathakali just average opening. Critics reviews are good. Audience report just OK.”

He further added, #RajiniMurugan is the clear winner way ahead of the other releases. #TharaiThappattai today’s collections better than #Kathakali and #Gethu”.” It does not come as a surprise as the Sivakarthikeyan’s film is the biggest among the four releases. In fact, “Rajini Murugan” had released in more number of screens than other films. A rough estimate says that the Tamil movie has been released in 350+ screens despite facing huge competiton from the other films.

Today being the second of release for this film, audience went in more rush to watch the film due to Friday and resulted in overall increment for it. People enjoyed the flick thoroughly and could be seen coming in crowd to the theaters. Second day has resulted in almost similar income & response for Rajini Murugan than the opening day. Public response for Rajini Murugan before its official release was overwhelming and everyone thought even the critics.

That the movie will be somewhat outstanding and first two days business shows it between excellent and marvelous Friday income is quite good and not only the film makers but the critics are also satisfied with such performance of the film in its first two days. The total income made by the film today on Friday is around 2.50 crores* from Tamil Nadu & rest South Indian regions.
