Akshay Kumar’s Airlift Teaser Review
Starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, the story of Airlift looks intriguing enough. The teaser which was released yesterday is based on the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war (1990-91). When Iraq invated Kuwait in august 1990, the Iraqi army took over the city within a few hours. while most of the royal families managed to escape the invasion and flew down to Saudi Arabia, the general population had no other option but to stay back. They were looted and made to suffer great tragedies. During this time, around 170,000 Indians in Kuwait were homeless and moneyless. The 2.09 Minutes teaser shows Ranjeet Katyal (Akshay Kumar), a rich, powerful businessman who had always seen himself as a Kuwaiti and not Indian, with the help of the Indian government, safely evacuated these 170,000 Indians back to their country. This was the largest and most successful evacuation attempted by any country in the world. Airlift is an edge-of-the-seat-thriller and is the story of this heroic evacuation that also won a Guinness World Record for India.
Airlift is based on a true story that holds a Guinness World Record for the biggest ever evacuation in the world. The Airlift poster too, released yesterday.
