Hero Opening Day Box Office Performance
Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty starrer “Hero” has opened to good response at the box office on Friday. While the romantic film, which is a remake of 1983 film of the same name, opened to negative reviews with critics panning the lead actors, director and screenplay, it has not affected the first day business of the film. “Hero” movie has opened to 30 to 35% occupancy in the morning shows on its opening day at the box office. And the occupancy will increase in the evening and night shows, which will help in summing up a good opening day. As reported earlier, a good opening for “Hero” was predicted with its advance booking status and even trade analysts had said the same thing about it. Backed by Salman Khan, the film has good music and the lead actors have impressed audiences. The opening was best in the Mumbai / Gujarat belt and CPCI Rajasthan while North India was lower especially Delhi city and big cities of Punjab. The opening day will come out with a good number but it will be important to have some growth tomorrow if the film is to have a good run. A lot will depend on how North performs as growth becomes hard if plexes of Delhi city and East Punjab are not on board.
Hero First Day Box Office Collection
On its opening day at box office, Hero started with an average occupancy for morning shows but later on experienced little increment and closed with decent performance. The movie has received many positive comments but didn’t get much high response in terms of business as everyone was expecting before its release. On Friday it has done the business of around 6.85 crores in India. It is definite that the movie will take growth from tomorrow being weekend and due to the positive reviews coming out. Overall in its lifetime collections, the film can collect around Rs 45-50 crore plus. In order to have a successful start the movie will have to surpass a successful Friday so that it can pave a smooth way for the weekend. Because the film is featuring two new entrants, word of mouth publicity and reviews will also play an important role in getting the audience to the screens. Sooraj and Athiya’s ‘Hero’ has an advantage with the release date as no other big film is hitting the theaters which leaves the audience with limited option. Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film also features Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aditya Pancholi, Imran Hasnee and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles.
