Srimanthudu / Selvandhan 4th Day Box Office Collection
Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu” did wonderful business at the worldwide box office on Sunday, taking its three-day total collection to Rs 70 crore* gross. “Srimanthudu” received unanimous positive response from both critics and audience around the world and the word-of-mouth factor took the business upwards with the film registering an average of 95 percent occupancy in all centres. Made on a budget of Rs 50+ crore, “Srimanthudu” has collected approximately Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office in two days. The Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan starrer has become the second faster Rs 50 crore gross Telugu movie in 2015 after S S Rajamouli’s “Baahubali” the Beginning”, which achieved the feat on its opening day. The share of its distributors, who shelled out Rs 55+ crore on its theatrical rights, stands at Rs 20+ crore. The Koratala Siva-directed movie is expected to get back their investment with a decent profit in its opening week, according to trade experts. In India as well as in overseas the movie is getting wonderful response and reviews from audience as well as critics.
Srimanthudu Monday Box Office Business
From Monday, the movie was expected to face high drop in its income as all others movies usually faces. But the movie has performed so well on the day. It has managed to collect 10-11 crores* with only 30% drop. The movie’s Telugu version received better response than the Tamil. Its business is bigger than the first collection of many big-ticket Telugu movies in the two states. Right from when the first teaser of Srimanthudu was released on Mahesh Babu’s father, actor Krishna’s birthday, we knew it was going to be blockbuster. Now, celebrities including Ram Gopal Varma have praised it, saying the film owes it to Mahesh Babu. Going by the looks of it, Srimanthudu will run even better on the Independence Day 2015 weekend (August 15). No better birthday gift for Mahesh Babu than his film’s impressive box office collections.
