Premam 7th Day Box Office Collection
Nivin Pauly’s latest flick “Premam” is cruising its way to become the highest grossing movie of Malayalam cinema. After one week at the Kerala box office, the movie has already made a statement with its collection. According to trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai, the Alphonse Putharen directorial has already collected Rs 10.3 Crore in a week’s time. The movie can therefore be declared a superhit. Meanwhile, the first week collection of “Premam” has broken the first week record collection of movies like “Bangalore Days” and “Drishyam”. Anjali Menon directorial movie “Bangalore Days”, which starred Dulquer Salmaan, Fahad Faasil and Nivin Pauly in the lead, had collected Rs 8.5 Crore in the first week, whereas Jeethu Joseph’s Mohanlal starrer blockbuster movie “Drishyam” had made Rs 6.7 crore in eight days. The response that “Premam” received in Kerala was something the Malayalam cinema had not seen in recent times.
Premam One Week Total Collection
The movie, which hit the screens on 29 May, has seen unprecedented number of audience of all ages thronging in theatres not only on weekends but also on weekdays. The kind of response that the film has garnered has adversely affected the collection of Tamil movie, “Masss”, starring Suriya. This is something new for the Malayalam industry, as in the past few years big starrer Tamil films used to do better business than Malayalam films in the state. In Chennai, the demand for the screening for “Premam” has increased and thereby theatres like Mayajaal has increased the number of screenings from four to ten on 6 June (Saturday), ensuring a strong second week run for the movie.
