Piku 3rd Weekend Box Office Collection
Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Ifrran Khan starrer “Piku” continues with its success run at the Indian box office in its third week. It is fast inching towards Rs 70 crore mark in the domestic market. Released in theatres on 8 May, “Piku” opened to a superb response and collected Rs 41.42 crore at the Indian box office in the first week. Trade experts predicted that “Bombay Velvet”, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, would halt its dream run at the ticket counters in the domestic market. However, with “Bombay Velvet” getting negative reviews, “Piku” became the first choice for many film goers in its second week. Having lost out some amount of theatres to the new release, “Piku” showed around 45 per cent dip and collected Rs 23.8 crore at the Indian box office, taking its 14-day domestic total to Rs 65.22 crore.

However, “Piku” showed a decent growth the next day. The movie collected Rs 1.35 crore on its third Friday and Rs 2.40 crore on its third Saturday and on it 3rd weekend i.e 3rd sunday income is around 2.75 Crore nett. The film has earned a total of Rs 71.72 crore at the Indian box office in 17 days. Made with the budget of a whopping Rs 35 crore budget, “Piku” recovered its production cost in just six days. In the next 10 days, the film earned almost 100 per cent profit from its theatrical run. The movie has become the biggest Bollywood money spinner at the ticket counters in 2015. Star casts of Piku have been able to impress the audience with good feedback and reviews coming out from the cinema halls and theaters but figures are not that favorable now as were recorded earlier.
