Piku 12th Day Box Office Collection
Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan starrer “Piku” continues to do well in its second week, while Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar starrer “Bombay Velvet” had a decent Monday. “Piku”, which has been declared a smash hit, earned ?2.60 crore on second Monday, while “Bombay Velvet” earned 2.10 crore on first Monday. Piku [Week 2] Fri 3.10 cr, Sat 5.10 cr, Sun 6.40 cr, Mon 2.60 cr [85% of Fri; super] Grand total: Rs 58.62 cr. The second Monday box office collection of “Piku” is 85% of second Friday’s earnings. Also, “Piku” has again fared better than “Bombay Velvet” at the domestic box office. Generally, new releases affect the old film running at the box office, but in the case of “Piku”, Ranbir-Anushka’s new release “Bombay Velvet” hasn’t made any impact on the former’s business. Moreover, Shoojit Sircar’s directorial film has set the record of highest second weekend total of 2015.
Piku 2nd Tuesday Box Office Business
“‘Bombay Velvet’ has hardly any effect on this father-daughter drama despite running on lesser screens. So far, it has raked in Rs 56.02 crore and set a record for the highest second week collection of 2015,” a trade source told Mid-Day. Another trade analyst added that “Piku” is the only silver lining at the box office as “Bombay Velvet” failed to perform as expected. Anyhow, Piku is just going places with each day passing at box office. Film is into the weekdays of second week and is still rocking at box office. Film has collected a very good Rs 1.75 crore approx on 2nd Tuesday (12th day). In fact Piku 2nd Tuesday collection is better than that of Bombay Velvet first Tuesday.
