Piku 7th Day Box Office Collection
The tickets sale of e-motional family drama “Piku” might have declined at the box office but it hasn’t had much effect on the collection even during the weekdays. Shoojit Sircar’s critically acclaimed directorial film has now crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The domestic and overseas box office collection of “Piku” stands at Rs 52.24 crore. The family drama film, which features Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles, accumulated Rs 37.72 crore in six days from Indian market. Deepika-Amitabh-Irrfan starrer “Piku” minted Rs 14.52 crore from overseas box office in its opening weekend. For Deepika Padukone, this is indeed a huge addition to her repertoire as she has managed to balance out the likes of Happy New Year and Chennai Express with Piku and Finding Fanny. Meanwhile, for Amitabh Bachchan too this is yet another commercial success after Bhoothnath Returns, hence being the only veteran actor to still find audience as a central protagonist or the main lead. As for Irrfan, he has proved once again that he is the man of all seasons, and can make a film his own.
Kuch Kuch Locha Hai 7th Day Box Office Collection
“Piku” is one the most successful films of Bollywood in 2015. The box office collection increased by almost 60% on second day compared to its opening day. Even Akshay Kumar’s “Baby” hadn’t shown such growth in its business when it was releases in January. Deepika Padukone’s “Piku” remained strong on its first Thursday too. The film collected Rs.3.75 crores on its seventh day. The film now stands with a total collection of Rs.47.87 crores at the domestic box office. Meanwhile, along with “Piku” Sunny Leone’s “Kuch Kuch Locha Hai” was released on 8 May, but the latter crashed at the box office. The sex comedy, also starring Ram Kapoor, has so far minted approximately Rs 2.63 crore. While Leone’s “Ek Paheli Leela” performed well at the box office, her latest release “Kuch Kuch Locha Hai” has turned out to be a disaster.
