The film performed well in its opening weekend at the domestic box office, but Monday’s earnings went down by almost 40%. Dibakar Banerjee directorial film earned Rs 1.68 crore on Monday, taking its overall income to Rs.15.47 crore. “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy Fri 4.20 cr, Sat 4.50 cr, Sun 5.36 cr, Mon 1.68 cr. Total: Rs 15.74 cr. India biz,” But the film, which was released in just 1240 screens in India, has managed to take its four days income to a decent total. And if the overseas opening weekend figure is added, the box office income stands at over Rs.20 crore, which is also the production cost of the film. “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy Overseas opening weekend total: approx $790,000 [Rs 4.91 cr]. With today film entered in weekdays and today being the second, it occasionally suffered lower occupancy and audience response due to working day of public. This phase is expected to continue in the coming days due to the weekday time but it is showing up decent performance even in such opposite situations.
