“Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” starring Sushant Singh Rajput had a decent opening on Friday at the domestic box office. Dibakar Banerjee’s directorial crime thriller, which has been released in just 1240 screens, earned Rs 4.20 crore on opening day in India. Despite having a limited release across the country, the film opened to good response. The opening day box office collection of “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy” is better than several releases this year, including Anushka Sharma’s “NH10”. “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy India screen count – 1240 screens. The movie fared well in West Bengal, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi. As Detective Byomkesh Bakshy is carrying a positive mouth publicity, the film has good chances to pick up in the weekend i.e. today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). The weekend collections of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy should stand in the range of Rs.12-13 crores easily, if the film shows a good growth in 2 Days. Now, the second day movie collected Rs.4.50 Crore nett. “It’s one of the most beautiful films on Indian screens. I haven’t seen a movie like this for a long time. Sushant Singh Rajput is great. The film is really interesting to watch. People should see it,” Zoya Akhtar said on Friday after watching the film at a special screening. “It’s an experience. It’s very beautiful. The cinematography is excellent. The production design is gorgeous. It is very stylistic. Dibakar is a craftsman,” she added, according to IANS.
